Tutorial: Interconnection and Peering

The tutorial covers the different IP network interconnection schemes and their benefits to the different stakeholders (connectivity providers, content providers and end users). The peering and transit concepts are introduced as well as different peering models (private, public, bilateral or multilateral, paid peering). Relevant traffic statistics related to exchange agreements, relevant meeting and peering agreement models will be presented. Finally, examples of decision making on the part of an operator will be presented.
